As a Celebrant, I get to work in some stunning places, with some amazing teams, from barns and bluebell woods to country house venues. Here are my Top 5 in Essex.
Greenwoods Hotel and Spa – Stock, Ingatestone
This hidden gem is a Grade II listed 17th Century Manor house, lovingly restored and developed to cater for all your wedding needs. Historically a working farm, High House is set within 6 acres of landscaped gardens, rolling meadow and a vineyard, offering ceremony settings outside or within its beautiful barn that dates to 1750 or the amazing Marquee. The bridal suite is stunning and comes with its own outdoor pool. High House has its own team of excellent planners who will make your wedding and satisfaction their upmost priority.
Hatfield Place – Hatfield Peverel
Half a mile from the village of Hatfield Peverel, Hatfield place has easy access from the A12 making it perfect for couples from Essex, Herts, Suffolk, London and Kent. The venue is a stunning Georgian country house that sits within 15 acres of mature gardens and offers ceremony spaces within the walled garden, ceremony hall or ballroom, all are exquisitely furnished with a mix of period pieces and contemporary design.

Tuffon Hall is a working vineyard which produces award winning wines and gins, managed by the Crowther Family for over 100 years. The Cellar Door is a huge but warm feeling event space with a comprehensively stocked wine bar, beautiful reception space and choice of ceremony area both indoors or outside in the vineyard or on the terrace. They are expanding their offer currently to accommodation, including the ample Farmhouse and some glamping options amongst the vines.

Baddow Park House, Chelmsford.
Recently transformed by owners Samantha and James Martin, Baddow Park is a brilliant blend of old school opulence as well as modern luxury. It boasts extensive gardens and grounds as well as a wooded ceremony space. There are numerous spaces to be used for ceremonies indoors as well as the purpose-built Orangery, all of which are simply stunning.
