Real Wedding – Sally & Simon

Oh, those balmy summer days seem so far behind us – so enjoy a bit of summer sun and barn love as we look back at the gorgeous wedding of London based Sally and Simon from June 2023.

Where:  Our ceremony was held in the centuries old barn at High House Weddings in Chelmsford, Essex. The day was a scorcher and I for one was glad to have the shade and a more comfortable temperature than the high thirties it was outside. The decoration was simple, wild and seasonal flowers were in small glass vases on the ceremony table, used as buttonholes and  carried by the bride – simple, seasonal elegance.

Who: Sally and Simon found High House whilst searching for barn weddings. They fell in love with the barn and the fact that the whole space could be hired exclusively, came with some accommodation and had beautiful gardens for their photos. The team on hand answered all of their questions and allayed their concerns about trying to organise things remotely. They will supplied with a list of recommended suppliers, of whom I was one and after a zoom call to discuss their wishes we organised to meet at their home in London before Christmas 2022 to start planning.

Wedding Day: The day was a scorcher but Sally and Simon were cool as cucumbers, ably assisted as they were by their wedding party. Their baby girl, Alma, was rightly stealing the show in her stunning bridesmaid dress and happily munched on a pack of snacks throughout the ceremony and joined in for cuddles at times in the ceremony.

We were able to incorporate key points from Sally & Simon’s love story, like the relevance of their chosen date, their mutual love of travel and the first date that should have been a disaster!  Their vows were specially written for them and incorporated all of their key values. They had some good friends join in with a beautiful reading which was amended to become even more personalised – there will definitely never be another one like it.

After the ceremony came drinks and canapes before our Couple headed off for stunning photos taken by Emma of Bloomwood Photography. Everyone reconvened in the Marquee for the wedding breakfast, hilarious speeches and to get the celebration started. It was a cracker of a day and I will always love looking back at these photos of a couple so thoroughly in love and loving their new family dynamic.
